In 1981, after years of research, Savinelli launched the Dry System on the market, a combination of tank and balsa filter. The name "dry" derives from the introduction of balsa filters while the "system" consists in the presence of the tank inside the barrel, which is then connected to the mouthpiece. Balsa absorbs moisture within the wood instantly, making for a dry smoke. A bent pipe cleaner can collect any residue inside. The 620 model really has a particular shape.
